(Glenn)Today we left Omaha,Nebraska and rode through Iowa and South Dakota. Not much to see but alot more corn fields. Helmets are not required for riding motorcycles in these states but Cathy and I agreed to use our head and protect our head with our helmets. It was a nice day starting out around 72 degrees. It was a long ride to Mitchell, South Dakota where we went to see the Corn Palace. They have been decorating it with murals using different colored corn on the cob since late 1800's..The photos we posted today show us in front of the corn palace, which is still under construction for this year. You can see the murals on the building behind us. The second photo we posted is what it should look like when it is finished. It was a nice place to visit once but we have no desire to ever see it again. After some hot dogs, corn on the cob, popcorn ball, and a corn dog, we drove a couple of more hours until we found a place to stay in Murdo, South Dakota. Gas stations, rest stops, and places to stay for the night are in short supply in this area. Tomorrow we are headed to see the Badlands National Park.
(Cathy) Glenn says I am a cheap date. For dinner we stayed in and had boiled eggs & yogurt that we had left from breakfast this morning in Omaha. Too tired to go out. 97 degree part of the day. That is HOT on a motorcycle. I think I have been very good. Boy, I have to LOVE this man.
