(Glenn) Resting is over...now back to our vacationing. We left our room at 5:50 AM in the dark and made it to Arches National Park about 8:30. We did not have much of a crowd and saw most of the major highlights but decided to only hike up a couple of the shorter trails. The arches were unique and there were so many large boulders that looked like they could fall from their perch at any time. One of the photos is of "Balancing Rock" and I do not want to be around when it does fall. The hike to the upper observation point to see "delicate arch" was more challenging than we had anticipated. Arches was a great park to visit but about four hours was plenty for us and the we headed to the hotel to watch some college football. Tomorrow we are going to explore Canyonlands National Park.
(Cathy) I have decided these parks could be dangerous! That balancing rock weighs approximately 3,577 tons!! And we stood right under it. There are huge rocks just sitting and dangling everywhere.
I got a picture of three Asian ladies that wanted to take pics of Glenn's motorcycle. He just stepped back and they acted like they were driving. He said they had fun(I was at potty) we must be odd looking or something, We have had our photo made numerous times. Asians, kids in cars, adults in cars.. One man was checking out the bike and trailer and said he had never seen anything like it before.
