(Glenn) Well, all good (great) things must come to an end. We made our final ride of this trip home from Orange Beach this morning. More perfect weather and we even got to enjoy our friend Jim's company on the last leg of this trip. I went to the post office and picked up three large containers of mail (I have been sorting through piles finding the bills). Before we left on this trip I hid the keys to our truck, car, and other motorcycles just in case someone should try to steal them. WELL, I am not sure where they are hidden and hope we find them soon. I found a spare truck key I had left for Mickey (in case he needed it while I was gone) but when I went to the truck it had a flat tire. A quick trip to the tire store fixed that problem, but now I have to tear the place apart looking for my great " hiding place". This has been an incredible trip and words can't express how much fun we had exploring the western part if the United States. We are now so happy to be back home and have a renewed appreciation for the beauty we all share here in Alabama. Below are a few fun facts about our trip:
Gone 107 days
Visited 21 states
Visited 1 Canadian province
Slept in a ranger cabin
Toured the Jelly Belly jellybean factory
Traveled 13,854 miles
Visited 21 national parks
Visited 7 national monuments
Toured 2 mines
Toured/explored 3 caves
Visited 4 Castles
Visited 15 breweries/wineries
Soaked in 3 different hot springs
Saw 2 rodeos
Visited 3 museums
Visited 1 zoo
Stayed in 3 bed and breakfasts
Stayed in 41 hotels
Needed 2 barbers and 1 hair salon
Had only 2 Mani/pedis (poor Cathy)
Had our first Segway tour experience (Cathy fell twice)
A "Bazillion" memories and good times we will never forget
(Cathy) House not too bad, dust quarter inch thick. Clothes to wash, etc. I'm not worth anything. For almost 4 months I have not had to cook, clean up, wash dishes, vacuum, dust, buy groceries..I will have to get back in the swing of things quickly. Thanks to Deanna Leader for bringing over chili and sweet corn muffins. It was delicious and much appreciated. She has been feeding our koi in our fish pond all this time so I guess she thought she was supposed to feed something at the Stephens house tonight. Lol
My bed has clean sheets and ready for us. I'm ready.
