(Glenn) This morning we decided to leave Sausalito early to allow us more time to ride Highway 1 along the coast without being rushed. We took the scenic highway to Monterey where we spent some time along Cannary Row which had a lot of shops and restaurants. We had a nice lunch with seating beside the bay and watched some seals on the rocks. We decided not to visit the aquarium because we had been there before and we wanted to allow more time at our final stop Carmel, California. Our hotel was a few blocks from the beach at Carmel By The Sea so we strolled down the hill looking at the shops as we went to the coast. The beach was much nicer than I expected. We could see the Pebble Beach golf course next door to our beach and the waves and sand were exceptional. Afterwards we visited Hogs Breath Saloon that was owned by Clint Eastwood at some time. Now we are chilling out on our balcony enjoying the weather (it stayed in the upper 60's low 70's today). Headed farther south along the coast tomorrow. This has been a nice day. Hoping for some action from Cathy tonight.
(Cathy) Sorry but I can't stop laughing. We also stopped at a fruit stand and purchased fresh strawberries. They had just been picked at the farm next door. DELICIOUS! I washed and hulled them at the hotel. Nicole would just love these. No sugar needed. But I don't want the job of picking all those acres of strawberries. The beach was beautiful but no shells. It was all downhill including the sand down to the beach. It was treacherous coming back up! Nicole texted me breathing instructions to help me. I was not the only one huffing. We had fresh artichoke dip that was delecious.we found a couple of houses for sale in Carmel for less than a million, one was 35 million. We just need a few people to go I with us-who's in with us?. Great beach and great weather. This hotel has no air conditioning, just fans but it is so cool no A/C is needed.
I love love Clint Eastwood. When we get home I've got to find Rawhide for Glenn. He has never seen Rowdy.
