(Glenn) This morning we left the heat of the Yosemite valley area and rode a few hours back to the Pacific coast. We could really notice the temperature drop as we hit the shore. We visited Muir Woods to see the sequoia redwoods grove. The park had a nice boardwalk to go through the wooded areas. The sequoyias were beautiful but not nearly as impressive as the redwoods of the Humboldt National Park. It was a great day in the forest but there were alot of people there and a constant flow of tour buses kept the area a little too busy for my enjoyment. We left the Muir Woods area and went for a short drive to Sausalito, California where we plan to spend the next three nights. We visited Sausalito years ago and fell in love with the sailboats, small shops, and restaurants. We walked through the town and I had lobster for dinner with various oysters on the half shell as my "desert". It got so cool I had to step into our room to change into something warmer. We found a very convenient hotel (Hotel Sausalito) that is in the center of town near the waterfront. We plan to stay in Sausalito tomorrow and take the ferry to San Francisco to spend the day Wednesday. I think Cathy will enjoy the shopping and I will enjoy the seafood but I know we will both enjoy this cooler weather.
(Cathy) people with no manners and no common sense are driving me crazy!! they seem to be everywhere. Glenn has done a fabulous job driving all these winding roads and busy cities. He never ceases to amaze me. I think he has outdone himself with Sausalito and this hotel. I told him he has set a high bar. lol No telling where I'll be staying in a few weeks.
