(Glenn) We had a great day today. Sleeping later and cooler weather as we strolled through this seaside town. We could see the skyline of San Francisco and the island of Alcatraz. There is a very small hamburger shop that we remembered from our visit 15-20 years ago. We bought a burger and fries and sat by the coastline watching the sailboats and the regular arrival of the ferry boat bringing tourists from the San Francisco side of the bay. Cathy enjoyed visiting all of the small shops. I told her she was like a kid in a candy store in this village and she said "if you don't want your kid to have candy you shouldn't bring her to a candy shop". We are having a great time here because it is so relaxing and scenic. Tomorrow we plan to take the ferry to San Francisco and spend the day in the big city before returning to our hotel here in Sausalito.
(Cathy) I went into several shops this afternoon. Most are way too expensive. I found a pair of colorful tennis shoes in the shoe store next to the hotel... $999.00. Yes $999.00.. I looked twice and left quickly.. But I did find one great deal on a handmade shirt from Sausalito $25.00. I said I would not be female if I didn't take this deal. Really pretty. Said her mom was the owner and was just "trying to get rid of some things". One shop owner was originally from Tennessee/ Virginia area. She was the first person I didn't have to spell something I was trying to say with my southern accent.
