we spent this morning in White Sands National Monument in Almogordo, NM. It is the largest gypsum sand dunes in the world. The sand is cool and powdery soft and different than the usual silica sand most people have seen. It felt like we should be near the ocean and not in a desert in southern New Mexico. Two hours here was plenty of time because I could not convince Cathy she needed to rent a sled to slide down some dunes. We had also planned to visit the Shroud of Turin Museum here but it is closed on Thursdays. It looked small but it had received good reviews on trip advisor's website. After stopping at two pistachio farms we checked into the hotel here in Alamogordo, NM so I could rest. Last night I began feeling nauseous and today I am very achy all over my body and have no energy, I am lucky I brought a good nurse with me.
(Cathy) The sand dunes were so pretty and felt silky. There is not much here in this town that we can see. Just pistachios, I did buy a few but they think a lot of their nuts. You would think they would be cheap. And also boughf a bag of Pinon coffee. I just hope the Doc is feeling better tomorrow. Our room is down a long hall. Going in and out and down to the washroom I lost track of our room number. So I went down the hall swiping my key until I got the green light. Finally found it. Pop tart and coffee for supper. Glenn had yogurt.
